If I were the kind of writer/artist who loved abrasive humor, I would be all over this. I had an idea for an OCT character that would be right at home here - a stand-up comedian / unholy union of Daniel Tosh, Dane Cook, Seth MacFarlane, and a dash of the Scout. His powers are cursing, screaming, and offending absolutely everybody.
Buuuuuuut my conscience won't let me draw or write anything NEAR that. : P So if anyone wants to take inspiration from or outright adopt my character, be my guest.
I'm kind of sad that so much of the absolute funniest stuff out there also leaves a bad taste. I'm not against "honesty", characters who aren't censored by their authors just to pander to general audiences. But there's a fine line between that and raucous characters who are made to pander to ANOTHER audience - those are just as dishonest as the cutesy fare. (But still stupidly funny.)
So what works do you think strike that balance best, which strive for true honesty? For me, Rango instantly comes to mind. I gotta watch that movie again sometime.
ALSO - Speaking of OCT's! Another ongoing (and a bit more casual) OCT is the variable-themed Mafia Game at Smackjeeves! I've led several games in this comic, and now I've given the reins to KreeTheBasilisk. There's a new game getting started, so check it out if you're interested!
